Super Identity and Secret Identity:
Vriska Serket, Thief of Light, (and she likes to say also Luck) with the handle of arachnidsGrip online.
Alliance:
Vriska's Chaotic Neutral tendencies don't lend themselves to alliances, but she is willing to strike alliances if they benefit her.
Gender Preference:
Female
Age:
Vriska is around 14. She stopped keeping track after leaving her parent's house, but figures each school year means one year older.
Birthday:
November 8th
Personality:
Vriska is bossy, tends towards being manipulative, and cares about her survival. She loves to act like everything that happens around her was planned and executed by her, even when she's just as surprised as everyone else. When she does have friends, she'll try to make them excel, but can push them too far and end up with rivalries. If insulted, she tends to pretend that she doesn't care at all, but will remember what they did and plan revenge, even if she's just planning to bring it up to guilt them into something.
She tends towards staying in her dorm room that she claimed the moment she left her parent's house, keeping her irons in the fire and making sure that no police have tracked anything back to her yet. She goes out when she needs to do so, or just wants to do something fun, generally manipulating people into giving her their money and then forgetting about it. She knows that some kids use their powers to be heroes or villains, but doesn't care enough either way. She'd help either side if offered a sweet enough deal, though sometimes she feels guilty about the various things she has inflicted upon people.
Appearance:
From top to bottom: Vriska has two candy-corn colored horns. When facing her, the left one looks like a stylized scorpion's stinger, and the right one look like a pincer. She has long black hair that tends to go annoying curly at the edges and extends past her shoulders. Her eyebrows are also black, but her eyelashes are for some reason the same blue as her blood and lips. Her eyes are mainly yellow, with black pupils that are surrounded by a dull cerulean color. Her right eye has 7 pupils, one in the middle and six surrounding it, granting her vision 8-fold. Her glasses are simple things with grey wire edging most of the time, but she does have a set that enhance her vision 8-fold. She's got abnormally sharp eye teeth that she likes using to intimidate people, as well.
It's also important to mention that by now, if you have had the time to notice all of this and haven't noticed she's got grey skin, you might be colorblind.
She tends to wear black shirts with a blue Scorpio sign in the middle, and jeans or blue pants with red shoes. When it's cold, or even when it's not, she'll wear a black leather jacket over the ensemble. As Thief of Light, she wears a blindingly orange ensemble that consists of a hood with holes for her horns and two long, wispy bits like a bifurcated cloak, a tunic-like thing with a yellow sun in the middle, pants, and bright red knee-high boots. When wearing this, she also has blue fairy-like wings. No one is sure what she does with them when not dressed as the Thief of Light, and so far no one has asked.
She doesn't care whether or not people stare, and as Thief of Light she is confident that no one will attack her, or if they do, they will pay for it.
History:
Vriska started out as a fairly normal kid, but slowly took on attributes of the appearance she has today. Her skin went grey, her horns slowly developed, and her eyes went weird. She found a set of 8 blue d8s when scavenging around after school when she was 6, and figured out how to use them. A bit after that, she discovered that she could influence what people did and thought. She generally used this to make sure she got her way, although once she used it to make some idiot not fall into a pit.
On her 10th birthday, her parents kicked her out, frightened of their own child. She adopted the name Vriska Serket and moved into the school dorms, happy that her parents had finally stopped pretending they cared about her, bringing with her furniture, a laptop computer, and the couple hundred bucks she stole from her used to be parents. She quickly set up her room and continued to practice with the dice and controlling people. Her 11th birthday marked the day she realized she could 'see' luck with what she deemed her 'vision 8-fold' and manipulate that to her advantage, building up great stores of it and distributing it where she willed. Occasionally bad luck befalls her anyways, angering her. It's arguable if that's actually bad luck, though.
The next landmark in her life was at 13. By that time she'd turned her dorm room into a comfortable place for her to live in, obtained a phone, and was well entrenched in various schemes. She'd gone out to the abandoned carnival, having heard that a new gang was building up a base there. Vriska hadn't found a gang, but she had found out that enough people had gotten pissed off at her to attempt to kill her. Caught by surprise and outnumbered, she was beaten and left there. Sometime during that night she was somehow resurrected into the Thief of Light. Unsure of how that happened, why, and what new powers she might have obtained from it, Vriska waited until the double-crossers felt secure before wiping them out and leaving them in front of various police stations that she had her fingers in. So many irons to keep in the fire, so much work.
Right now Vriska's staying in school to keep her room, as anything she doesn't have to pay for is good, and in this case worth continued schooling. Vriska figures she might as well learn what she can, anyways. It doesn't hurt that she suspects many of the 'heroes' continue to go to school and it's a good way to divine who they are.
Secret Identity:
So many irons in the fire!!!!!!!! Vriska considers herself for hire as a manipulator and planner, under the online handle arachnidsGrip. As Thief of Light, she schemes for herself and is careful to appear to be entirely neutral. Sometimes she makes fake props that look a lot like doomsday devices and sells them, but only when she's extremely bored or well paid. Her preferred method of survival is the laziest, mind controlling people into giving her money and then making them forget it. Sometimes she'll target the richest people and take one of their credit cards. After disabling cameras around an ATM, she can then withdraw all the money. All of it. It's easy to then put it in her various bank accounts or just keep the cash.
Power: As Thief of Light, Vriska uses a set of 8 d8s to determine what she does and how powerful her move will be. Many iterations of the dice remain hidden, as she tends to manipulate the dice into only landing on favorable outcomes by stealing the luck of those around her. She can manipulate minds, but as there is the no god modding I will always ask before she does so to a player character or an NPC that a player is using.
RP Sample:
“Ow! Ow, ow, god, stupid dice!” Vriska swore as she kicked the very very pointy d4 into a different corner of her room. The bloody things made it impossible to do anything but shuffle unless she wanted to have her foot jabbed. “Bloody things, maybe Kanaya is right and I need to clean up. Bloody fussyfangs, telling me things and being right.” She finally flopped onto her bed just gazed up at the ceiling, ignoring the pain in her foot.
“Bluhhhhhhhh, school. Idiotic homework, haven't done the idiotic homework. Jegus, can't manipulate the teacher too much before it becomes obvious. Feck. Do it before class, Vriska, it's not that hard.” She should probably stop talking to herself, but who gives a damn, she's quiet enough not to be overheard. “So many irons, too little fire.” She rolled over and opened the cabinet by the side of her bed, taking out a bandage and an alcohol wipe, swabbing it over the slight puncture in her foot before sticking the bandage on. Tossing the cerulean-dyed swab into the trash, she grabbed her phone and set an alarm for the morning before flopping back on the bed, motionless.
She thought quietly for a bit, going over what she needed to do (manipulate a police officer or two to keep them away from a bank robbery until the idiots pulling it off were done tomorrow, idiotic homework, figure out who all the heroes and villains were as information is always useful, make sure Kanaya hadn't died the fussyfangs); and what she wanted to do (go to sleeeeeeeep, go buy some food, upgrade laptop as it's getting old, fly, have a talk with the people at school she did like). Shrugging, she decided that everyone needed sleep and it was already, what, 1 in the morning? She swung herself off the bed, shuffled over to the light switch and turned off the light. Turning off her computer came next, and then flopping onto the bed, plugging her phone into the charger on the cabinet and making sure it was set to wake her before school.
“Goooooooodnight, self.”
Other:
Vriska's typing quirk replaces 'b's and eight sounds with an 8. When upset, random vowels will be replaced with an 8. Various other 8-themes also apply, such as 8 exclamation points for emphasis, or when stretching words repeating each letter 8 times. Her emoticons are also changed. A becomes :: and a XD becomes XXXXD to reference her vision 8-fold. I'll still type out the h x8 or whatever letter it is, but unless she's chatting online you don't need to worry about deciphering the various '8's. I am unsure of how to get her involved in things, but I will look for ways to do this. Are the characters in different fandoms using different chat clients in RP, or is there one client they all use?
